What is making our young people so vunerable?

Motiv8 Support 2020 - 2021

Young people reached through community drop-in, group work, street based detached youth work and community education events

Individuals supported through the Family well being programme

Hours of support given by the full time and sessional staff at Motiv8 across the support programs and events

Young people supported through one to one intensive support programs

Our approach is community based, and creates the conditions for young people and families to access support at different stages of their journey.

We provide safe spaces with trusted adults to help young people and families develop skills, tools and the resilience to overcome challenges.

Each young person and family’s situation is unique and may require a different type or length of support. Our approach provides flexibility, and allows young people and families the opportunity to remain engaged, access ongoing support and return to sharpen their skills as required, recognising there may be further setbacks on their life journey.

young people feedback

I have managed to cope with life a little better and am always looking forward to Motiv8 days. Nothing can compare to the level of respect, support and guidance Motiv8 provide me with.
I was desperate to leave my room but the feelings I was having and the situation I was in made opening the door too hard. I slowly built a relationship with my Motiv8 Support Worker, I started to trust her and together we built my confidence. I learnt how to deal with the sad feelings and found long lasting friends. My bedroom door is now always open!
I was so isolated, I felt so negative all day long. Through a long term and trusting relationship with my Motiv8 Support Worker, who was always there for me, I have learnt to see life more positively. I have grown and changed and made real friends.
Motiv8 has helped me to have a better relationship with my mum and helped me to come out of my comfort zone as I used to be quite shy.
